Euratom waste dumpers' charter in Europe
In other EU countries there is still potential for wastes from Exempt undertakings to be dumped at higher concentrations than the UK's 400 Bq/Kg.
Similarly the standards for Clearance of contaminated materials from licensed sites may vary.
We and MEPs have asked the EC for a breakdown of the situation. The EC has said they will do this but there's nothing so far - as at June 2001.
