Late breaking news
Just before RaT went to press a public meeting in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset heard a presentation from the Director of the South West Cancer Intelligence Service confirming reports of elevated cancer risks locally. Analysis of mortality data and a door-step survey by local campaigners had shown high rates of breast and other cancers. This prompted the health authorities to commission an investigation by SWCIS using incidence data. RaT will report fully in the next issue.
